I was born in Ballarat, and after moving away to Bendigo for part of my childhood, I returned to Ballarat where I have lived my entire adult life. I was educated at Ballarat East High and returned to education as an adult at SMB and Federation University.
Together with my partner Angela, I have lived in Sebastopol for over 25 years, and I have had family connections to Sebastopol my whole life.
I believe it’s important for Councilors to live in the Ward they want to represent.
I have worked for almost 30 years advocating for working people in Ballarat across rail, manufacturing and more recently higher education, where I have been based at Federation University for the past seven years.
I am an independent candidate, and I have never been a member of a political party. I am a member of the Ballarat Trades & Labour Council, and I am a trustee of the Ballarat Trades Hall building.
I take great pride in our city’s colourful history, our great parks, gardens & open spaces, and the people, businesses and services that underpin and define our great City.
I believe in integrity, inclusion, accountability and a fair go for everyone, and I will always be guided by those values.
I’ve spent decades fighting to advance the rights of everyday people. I know how to stand up for what’s right and ensure everyone has a voice.
I will work hard to defend and improve the services and infrastructure that are vital to the fabric of our community.
I’ll always be accessible, accountable and firmly believe that consultation is the foundation of sound decisions.
It’s hard to escape the feeling that Sebastopol has been neglected for far too long. My vision is for our City to thrive and develop to the benefit of all Ballarat residents while ensuring that Sebastopol is promoted and not left behind.
This is our home and together we can improve and protect what we love about Sebastopol and the City of Ballarat.
You can share your ideas for our community with me or I can hear your concerns - send me a message or give me a call, so we can arrange to catch up over a coffee.
I’ll be around the Sebastopol ward delivering leaflets and knocking on as many doors as I can, and I will also be popping up around our local shopping precincts. I look forward to meeting other Sebastopol residents.
On Sunday 6 October I will be around the Sebastopol dog park (Grant Street) between 12PM -1PM - so come say hi!
Send me a message or ask me a question using this form. I will do my best to get back to you soon!
